How do I rotate (spin) text in a post?

Spinnable text means you enter several alternative text options. When it comes time to publish the text on one of its recurs, the system will randomly select one of the alternate options and use it. In other words, every usage of the text will not use the same text as the previous or the next recurrence (it may, but it's more likely it will not). Hence, with spinnable text you can have something that is not repetitive in what it says.

Spinnable text can only be used in queue posts, it cannot be used in directly scheduled posts.

To write spinnable text, do the following:

  • In the very first position of the text box, type the character { (it's the open curly brace).
  • Then write the first text option. The text box now contains: "{text option one".
  • Then type the | (vertical bar) character after the first text option (it separates the first text option from the following text option). The text box now contains: "{text option one|".
  • Now write the second text option. The text box now contains: "{text option one|text option two".
  • Then type the | character after the second text option (it separates the second text option from the following text option). The text box now contains: "{text option one|text option two|".
  • Repeat Steps 4 and 5 for as many text options you want to add.
  • When you're done, delete the very last | character that does not have any text to the right of it.
  • At the very end of everything (where you've just deleted the | character), type the character } (it's the close curly brace).

The | (pipe) character is usually Shift and \ (backslash) on most keyboards.

Your final spinnable text will look like this:

{the update text option one|the update text option two|etc}

We support multi-level spinning, such as:

{This is a {message|note} {to|for} you.|{Hello|{Hi|Greetings}} from us.}

You can employ option suppression as follows:

This is a message{ to you| for you|}.

The last empty option after " for you" will result in "This is a message." when that empty option is selected at random by the system.
